Some of my Favorite lesser known Horror movies

Since Halloween is just a few days away, i figure why not pay tribute to my favorite horror movies……ps dont be a pussy and watch them,lol

Ginger Snaps( 2000)

A werewolf movie set in a highschool, without all that fluffy romance. Ginger ( Katherine Isabelle) and Bridget ( Emily Perkins) are social outcasts with a fixation with death and a suicide pact. When Ginger is attacked by a wolf, she begins to change, starting with having mass appeal from men…. When things take a darker turn as Ginger slowly turns into a wolf Bridget looks for a solution with the local drug dealer Sam ( Kris Lemche), but it may be too late as carnage begins.

Deadgirl (2008)

A tale involving the horrors of growing up and and losing your bestfriend, to a naked dead girl. JT( Noah Segan) and Rickie( Shilo Fernandez) are two losers in high school, who are heading nowhere. One day they ditch class and go to the towns abandoned hospital to wreak havoc and find what they think is a dead girl chained to a table in the basement. Upon further inspection and a few gunn shots in her, they find that shes alive, but not exactly human. Rickie is horrified and JT is intrigued by the prospect of having a sex slave. but as their secret is discovered they realize how dangerous the dead girl is and how even worse JT is. Not for the faint of heart.

Eden Lake( 2008)

The Scariest thing in the world is a group of teenage boys. Jenny ( Kelly Reilly) and Steve ( Michael Fassbender) are a young Brittish couple who go on a weekend trip to the countryside to spend it by a lake and where Steve plans to propose. Theyre happiness is destroyed by a group of teenage boys(and one girl) lead by Brett ( Jack O’Connell) who become a thorn in Steves side. When Steves masculinity is threatened by Brett, Steve refuses to take the high road and pays for it dearly. When things lead to the murder of a pet all bets are off and Brett is out for blood.

Donkey Punch (2008)

Trapped on a boat when a sex act goes horribly wrong. three brittish women on a trip to Spain run into a group of guys with access to a yacht set out to sea before having to go back to their normal lives. While engaging in excess of Drugs and Alcohol, talk begins of the weirdest sex acts they’ve ever heard of and the mythical “Donkey Punch” is mentioned. As the night progresses the party is taken to the bedroom and one the men ( Julian Morris) attempts the sex act on one of the girls reulting in her death. Freaked out the men decide to throw her body over board in order to protect theyre friend. When the girls disagree it becomes everyone for themselves and the bodies pile up.

The Hunger ( 1983)

David Bowie plus vampires equals amazing time. Miriam Blaylock( Catherine Denueve) is an ageless immortal who spends her days murdering young couples with her husband John( David Bowie) a cellist who was turned in the 18th century. John hasnt been Miriams first love and he wont be her last because do to some unforeseen flaw, all the lovers that she has turned begin to rapidly age and stuck in ” living death”. In order to try to save John, Miriam contacts  Dr Sara Roberts( Susan Sarandon) a specialist who studies aging disorders, but soon Miriam sets her sights on Sara Instead.

Midnight Meat Train(2008)

Those rumors about the the subways being dangerous in New York are true. Leon Kaufman( Bradley Cooper) is a photgrapher who is trying to capture the darker sides of New York,but still hasnt found his claim to fame. One night he saves a young woman from a gang and she disappears into a subway car, there she is murdered by a silent man carrying a medical bag. Later Leon makes the connection and his investigation leads him to Mahogeny( Vinnie Jones) who is the mysterious killer. As Leon digs further he begins to slide further into the pit, causing  a strain in his relationship with his grlfirend and pushing his sanity and morals down the drain.

The Tripper( 2006)

Hippies VS. Ronald Reagan. A warped satire about drugs, violence and former president  who like Jelly Beans. A group of hippies including Jason Mewes, Jaime King, Lukas Haas and Paz Dela Huerta set of to go to a music festival for free love, music and drugs, but things are going to end horribly when a man who dresses up lik Former president Ronald Reagan begins to kill them off.

RSVP( 2002)

A somewhat original take on the Leopold and Loeb Murders. A group of friends are going to a party as a send off to  their friend Jimmy( Lucas Babin). The friends led by Nick( Rick Otto) are overly medicated and overly educated in serial killers and the arrival of their young serial killer obsessed proffesor ( Glenn Quinn, in his last role) doesn’t help especially since Jimmy hasn’t even shown up for his own party.Theres also the added bonus when the gang are being picked off one by one by the parties host Nick. The real mystery is who will catch on and who will realize that there is a very good reason Jimmy wont make it to his party.

Shallow Grave(1994)

Greed makes you do crazy things. Three friends( Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston and Kerry Fox) are looking for a new roomate, but rather than be hospitable they like to emotionally destroy their possible roomates instead. When they find a suitable mate named Hugo, things seem to be perfect, untill he overdoses and dies in his room. The three decide to alert the police until it is discovered that Hugo had a fortune in a suitcase and the three decide to keep the money and discard Hugos body instead. Before the can fully enjoy their money, the authorites and a couple of criminals looking for Hugo show up, but the worst of it all is that they now can’t trust eachother and how that plays out.

Karla (2006)

A hamrless looking yuppie couple are secretly responsible for some of Canada’s worst murders of all time. Not exactly a horror movie, but its definately terrifying. It tells the true story of Karla Homolka( Laura Prepon) and Paul Bernado( Misha Collins) and how much Karl really partcipated in the murders of several teen girls. We see Paul as the epitome of evil as a muderer, rapist and as the abuser of his own wife and we see just how Karla is even worse worth her ice cold stare ad reassurance that she ” didnt have anything to do with it”.
